"Marwage.. Marwage is wha bwings us here... and wove, twue wove.." so the bishop from the Princess Bride states during the marriage ceremony (that never happened) between Buttercup and Prince Humperdink. At least he had the right idea. In the movie SpaceBalls, we see the hurried wedding ceremony...
Priest: "Do you?"
Groom: "Yes"
Priest: "Do you?"
Bride: "Yes"
Priest: "Good your married!"

But how far are we from accepting this kind of thing into our own society? What ever happened to marriage?
I know of couples who got married quickly primarily for financial benefits. I know of others who are seriously considering a divorce without really trying to make it work. And, of course, I know of those who face trials in their marriage and are fighting to keep it alive, and those who are happily married and noone could ever seperate them. In a world where open marriages are accepted and divorce is so prevealant.. what is marriage anyway?? The homosexuals are fighting for their right to be married, while it seems that the hetrosexuals don't even put a significance on marriage at all.
So, is there anything to be said for marriage?? Why not just move in with someone and see how long you can stand to live in the same house?? For the financial benefits?? For a different tax bracket??
What about "wove.. twue wove"??
I, for one, love my wife dearly. I cannot see my life without her. I asked her to marry me so that I could spend the rest of my life with this woman. I wanted her to be my life partner. I was blessed enough to have her say yes. Is anyone else with me on this?? I mean, isn't this what marriage is all about??

Sometimes I just have to shake my head in disbelief.
It's Holy Matrimony, people.. not Holy Moley!!
