Never Having To Work

Some famous old dude.. Confussion, i mean Confucius or Aristotle.. once said, "Enjoy your job and you will never have to work a day in your life." Actually.. he probably didn't say that. I highly doubt he spoke English. Since I don't speak his language.. and I don't know if you do either.. we'll just imagine that he did say this.

The point.. if there ever is a point to half the things I say.. is that I love my job. Sometimes it is hard to believe that I'm getting paid for it. It does have it's drawbacks.. the biggest being that it takes me away from my loving, beautiful wife and my fun-loving, energetic son. But overall, it's great. I tell people all the time that it is the best job.

This, sadly, is rare. How many of us look so forward to going to "work"? I had a boss that once said that it was like riding a bus. Some of us are are the wrong bus.. not in the right occupation, not in the right company, the right job site. Others of us are in the wrong seat.. you're in the right place, but not in the right position.. perhaps too much or too little responsibilities. And well, I guess some of us aren't even going in the right direction.. not heading on a path that will help us to fulfill our goals and aspirations.

God has designed us all differently, with different personalities, different talents, different gifts. He has done this so that we might all have a different duty here on earth and are specifically designed for that. I don't even look at my "inabilities" as a lack anymore (I used to), but it is just the way that God has designed me.

So, what about you? Are you happy with the job that you are in? Are you on the right bus? Are you in the right seat? Do you look forward to your job and the responsibilies that come with it? Of course, we are all going to have good days and bad days, but overall.. how do you feel about your job?

It's so good never having to work.

I have the best job in the world. I get to be your wife and the mother of your child!
Ok...I guess I've mushed up your blog enough for one day. My job is done.

I looked it up. You're right it is Confucius. Sounds like good advice.
